About Blue Trident
In 2005, a bored 17 year-old girl called Christine decided
to start a fan website for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, so
she
e-mailed author Rick Riordan to ask his permission. Mr. Riordan gave his permission and
she
got to work building the website. Unfortunately it didn't turn out too
well so she deleted it and put the idea to the back of her mind. After the
second book in the series was released she decided to try again (plus she
needed something to keep her occupied seeing as her 'A' level exams had
finished). So, on the 12th July 2006, Blue Trident was uploaded for the
first time onto the Internet for all to see... And it's still going strong
today.
Timeline
12th July 2006: Blue Trident goes online for the first time!

out, but unfortunately I forgot the title and the author's name: all I

had just gotten done reading the Harry Potter series and had nothing to
read. So my friend made a deal with me, he said that if I read this
amazing series called Percy Jackson and the Olympians, that he would read
the Harry Potter series. So I started reading the Lightning Thief. In the
beginning of the book (first few pages) I was sarcastically saying, "okay
then..." in my mind. But after the first chapter, I fell in love with the
series and became the dedicated Percy Jackson fan I am now. :)

Potter movies)
Favorite Music: I love music! I like rock. My favorite band is

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q. Can you give me
Rick Riordan's real e-mail address?
A. No I can't. See About Rick
Riordan for information on how to contact him.
Being Safe Online - Some Tips
- Never give out your postal address online! Not even to people you
know personally. Likewise, never give out your home telephone number or mobile
telephone number.
- If you want to give out your real name, use your first name only,
never post your family name/surname.
- If your parents/carers want to know what your doing online, they're not
being nosey (honestly!), they just want to make sure you're safe. The same is
true if they won't let you join a discussion forum or let you participate on a
chatbox or sign up for newsletters, etc. - they want to make sure you won't
come to any harm.
- If you want to exchange contact details, only exchange e-mail addresses or
instant messaging names/numbers/addresses. This way, if you think someone
isn't who they claim to be, you can simply block them or, if worst comes to
worse, delete or abandon the account and create a new one so they can't
contact you anymore.
- Be aware - make sure that who you are communicating with is who you
they claim to be. Often strangers use other people's accounts, either with the
owner's consent (for example, their brother, sister or a friend) or without
(for example, someone they don't know may have stolen their password) If you
need to, ask them a question that only they will know the answer to, like
what's the name of their pet.
- If you're talking to people on a forum you're obviously going to make
friends with some of them. However this doesn't mean that they're all nice
people. Take time to get to know them as well as possible, either by having
conversations in topics/threads or by exchanging messages over the Private
Message system (if the forum has it), then you can make an informed decision
as to whether you want to give out your e-mail address or instant messaging
information.
- Never arrange to meet someone you met on the Internet! Only meet up
with people who gave you their contact details in person, like friends from
school.
- Use your common sense and instincts: if something doesn't feel right stop
doing whatever you're doing and tell your parents/carers.
