Percy Jackson is the protagonist of
the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. We meet him
before he even knows he’s a demigod, let alone the son of Poseidon.
Like so many other half-bloods, Percy has ADHD and is dyslexic – but
these are no faults. It means he is always ready for battle and can
read Ancient Greek. Percy is a good kid that just happens to attract
trouble. He loves his mom and any food that is blue. He’s a typical
twelve year old boy, but he’s exceptionally brave. He knows right
from wrong and he’ll do anything to keep his friends safe. |

Annabeth Chase is another third of the main trio of characters in
the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. She’s described
as having curly blonde hair, a deep tan, and eyes like storm clouds.
She’s athletic and she’s been at Camp Half-Blood since she was
seven. She’s a daughter of Athena, which means she always has a
plan. Annabeth loves architecture and her greatest dream is to
rebuild Olympus. |

Grover is the final member of the trio and Percy’s best friend.
Before Percy knows that he’s a demigod, he thinks that Grover is a
typical scrawny middle school boy who has a muscular disease in his
legs and just happens to be able to grow a beard. The truth is that
Grover is a Satyr. His legs are actually those of a goat’s, he has
horns on top of his head, and he can talk to animals! His favourite
foods are cheese enchiladas (he’s a vegetarian) and tin cans. Grover
wants nothing more to get his searcher’s license so he can look for
the missing god Pan. |

LUKE CASTELLAN

Luke is the head of the Hermes cabin and one of the first people to
be nice to Percy. He’s older than Percy, but he doesn’t treat him as
though he's inferior. Luke is tall, muscular, and has a thick white
scar that runs from just below his right eye to the edge of his jaw
– a physical reminder of his first (and only) failed quest. He has a
friendly smile, but it hides some pretty powerful resentment towards
his father, Hermes. Luke’s favourite weapon is Backbiter – a sword
that is half Celestial Bronze and half tempered steel. |

Clarisse disliked Percy from the get-go. She’s a big, ugly, mean
bully who makes it her life’s ambition to humiliate and torture
Percy. She’s the daughter of Ares and, as such, is a formidable
fighter. Her favourite weapon was an electrically charged spear –
that is, before Percy snapped it in two. |
